Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization.
Graphic design is the methodology of visual communication, and problem-solving through the use of type, space and image. The field is considered a subset of visual communication and communication design, but sometimes the term "graphic design" is used interchangeably with these due to overlapping skills involved.

Joomla extensions extend the functionality of Joomla websites. Five types of extensions may be distinguished: components, modules, plugins, templates, and languages. Each of these extensions handles a specific function.
It works on just about every platform, is compatible with older browsers, and handles errors gracefully. You can create powerful, easy-to-maintain, future-proof web pages. Many common tasks are now simplified, putting more power in your hands.
Applications ("apps"), that extend the functionality of devices, are written primarily in the Java programming language(without the usual "write once, run anywhere" claim of the Java platform) using the Android software development kit (SDK). The SDK includes a comprehensive set of development tools, including a debugger, software libraries, a handset emulator based on QEMU, documentation, sample code, and tutorials.

New chips that blur the line between computer memory and storage are starting to move beyond niche applications and could change how we use PCs, an industry analyst said Sunday. The chips would enable the same instant-on capability that's common on tablets, but at much higher performance, said Tom Coughlin, founder of Coughlin Associates. "We're seeing the development of new solid-state storage technologies that are starting to play a role," he said. "MRAM is one that we're seeing playing a role providing a non-volatile memory technology, and there's some talk about resistive RAM doing some things." Conventional memory chips -- called DRAM -- store ones and zeros using a electrical charge in each memory cell, but Magnetoresistive RAM (MRAM) uses a magnetic charge. Resistive RAM (RRAM) is based on a sandwich made from two materials, with the center layer having a different resistance to the material that makes up the outer layers. "Some of these new technologies that have been in the lab and have been finding niche applications have been getting a little bit more widespread," said Coughlin. He was speaking at the Storage Visions conference happening on the sidelines of the International CES in Las Vegas.
Reports of problems logging into a variety of Apple services, including the iOS and Mac app stores, iTunes, iCloud and even the company's support scheduler, washed across the Internet early Wednesday. "I am trying to update one of my apps but when I get asked to sign into the Mac App Store I get a "Status_Code_Error" appear in red letters to the bottom of the login window," reported someone identified only as xXDivineSparkXx in the first message of a long thread on Apple's support forum, posted before 3 a.m. PT today. Several hundred others chimed in -- from locations across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Asia -- to report the same. Computerworld was unable to log into iTunes or the App Store at 6:15 a.m. PT, seeing a different message: "The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Similar reports circulated among Apple registered developers, who said they were unable to log into iTunes Connect, the suite of online tools for submitting and managing apps in both the App Store and Mac App Store. But contrary to the flood of reports on Apple's support site, Reddit and Twitter, Apple's services status page said all was well, with green lights across the board. Apple did not immediately reply to a questions about the outage.
Few areas of the enterprise are as ripe for change as the wide area network. And there are plenty of technologies -- from hybrid WAN services and software defined networking to better management tools -- lining up to push such a makeover closer to reality. "There is about as much turmoil in the WAN arena as possible," said Steve Taylor, senior research fellow with Webtorials.com. You can get the sense of the tumult by taking a look at the vendor activity in all aspects of the WAN. A ton of startups including vendors such as CloudGenix, Glue Networks, Viptela and Velocloud are offering new WAN services and products. Established vendors such as Cisco, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent and Riverbed are also scrambling to address WAN issues with new software and hardware. "The venture capital investment in WAN startups has been tremendous," said Cliff Grossner, research director data center, cloud and SDN with Infonetics. "For example, in the last six months 10 or more new companies have sprung up bringing SDN technology to the WAN. The growth in cloud services has made the WAN that much more strategic."
Google is shutting down Google Code, an online space for coders to store and share their projects with each other and the larger web, the company has announced. The reason for the shutdown, Google says, is that it was often used to post malware, spam, and other bad stuff — and it wasn't worth Google's time to pay for its upkeep anymore, especially as most coders have moved to competing service GitHub. "As developers migrated away from Google Code, a growing share of the remaining projects were spam or abuse. Lately, the administrative load has consisted almost exclusively of abuse management," wrote Google Director Chris DiBona in a blog entry on the shutdown. As of today, you can't make a new code project on Google Code. The shutdown will be gradual, but by January of 2016, all you'll be able to do is download an archive of your projects. Google is offering tools to migrate Google Code to Github, and similar service SourceForge has its own. Google Code may have been especially attractive to no-goodniks given that people trust anything downloaded from the Google.com domain without knowing or caring that it's from a third-party developer, security firm Zscaler pointed out in 2013. People would download a game or app and unknowingly hand the keys to the kingdom to a bad actor.
